Our Story

H.P. Thompson Utility and Thermal Equipment Company is a manufacturer’s representative firm located in Cincinnati OH. Its roots are with Henry P Thompson dating back to 1910. In 1982 Joanne Haag and her partner Scott formed HP Thompson UTEC to focus on the utility and power markets in the Ohio valley region.

HPT prioritizes representing quality products to support the technical requirements of our clients. The manufacturers we represent are of the highest quality and rely on our decades of experience to bring them to our customers across the Ohio River Valley.

1910

Henry P Thompson begins operation in 1910.

1950’s

The company becomes the exclusive COEN burner representative in the 1950’s.

1982

 In 1982, Joanne Haag and Scott Gallagher purchase the utility division and form H.P. Thompson UTEC, and opens an office in Blue Ash, OH.

1980’s

H.P. Thompson adds several lines to support industrial and power customers in the Ohio Valley region.

1990’s

Joanne Haag becomes sole proprietor of HP Thompson UTEC and the company moves to their Milford Ohio headquarters where Joanne and the team have operated to this day.

2000’s

The company evolves to support their customers full boiler suite by including a boiler manufacturer, water treatment manufacturer, steam distribution manufacturer, and airflow monitoring manufacturer alongside the existing COEN burner line.

2022

HP Thompson and Combustion Kinetics Company finalize a merger of their two companies in January of 2022.

2022 to Present

The merger of HP Thompson and Combustion Kinetics Company introduces expanded coverage between the two sister companies to now cover 12 states in the midwestern United States for customers and principles.
